COLUMBIA CENTER PODIUM REMODEL

CallisonRTKL

Completed: 2017

Major renovation work started on the Columbia Center earlier this year and will be completed next spring. The new updates will dramatically change the look and feel of Seattle’s 32-year old tallest tower.

Stadium seating, new furnishings and updated landscaping have already been added, setting the tone for the future of the finished project. The makeover is intended to refresh Columbia Center and keep the building relevant, so it can compete with new modern office spaces springing up all around downtown.

Where there once was a dark canopy on the main entry over Fourth Avenue, there will soon be a three-story glass curtain wall leading to an indoor “grand feature staircase” between the first and second floors.

The atrium’s brick floors will be updated with a modern concrete finish and the wood slat ceilings will be outfitted with new lighting.
