Bedtower
CRTKL
2017
The project focuses on a phased replacement and modernization of aging acute care facilities, as well as repositioning the campus to deliver exceptional outpatient services and private, modern inpatient accommodations. The new patient tower will connect to a five-story atrium lobby, allowing for easier access to the new medical building.
The design of the patient rooms at Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital establishes a new standard of care throughout the health system. The design approach focuses on continuous user input and engagement, giving staff hands-on involvement in the project. A week-long user engagement event took place using virtual reality (VR) and physical mockups. During the event, 150 Jefferson Health New Jersey-based staff members toured a physical and VR model of the new patient rooms. Staff was able to gain insight into the patient room design and provide constructive feedback on how the room will enable better outcomes, validating Jefferson Health’s goals and continuum of care.
