CallisonRTKL

2017

Children’s Cancer Hospital in Egypt becomes one of the largest children’s oncology centers in the world.

CallisonRTKL was brought on to help Cairo Children’s Cancer Hospital realize its mission of becoming one of the most comprehensive cancer treatment and teaching hospitals in the region and in the world. Through this project, CCHE will triple its bed capacity to nearly 600 inpatient beds and expand associated medical services. They will also create a new outpatient clinic center to accommodate more than 300,000 expected outpatient visits per year, develop an advanced radiotherapy center with potential proton therapy treatment and add a new Health Sciences Academy and Research Institute.

CCHE partnered with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Boston Children’s Hospital to help develop the programs for the new facility and has recently engaged in a new fellowship program with Harvard Medical School to establish the Research Institute. Once completed, the 200,000-SM campus will be one of the largest children’s oncology centers in the world.
